THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE - LEARNING TO LISTEN

The Zombie Apocalypse referred to in the media, as gory and dark as it is, is an interpretation and illustration of a very dark truth. Zombies exist, and if you see it for what it is, it is indeed an accurate depiction of the state of Christianity today. Today I feel like one of them. The Walking Dead. A single bite is infectious, forever consuming life only to sustain their existence. Life without the indwelling presence of God's Almighty Holy Spirit and God's Almighty Word (physically manifested as Jesus Christ and The Holy Bible). Jesus Christ walked this earth and by His obedience to the will of God and through the power of the Holy Spirit, was not only immune to the zombies, but was a walking cure Himself. He changed the lives of any one who would HEAR Him. Do you hear Him? Are you listening for Him to change your life? Are you listening for the sound of His coming?

DON'T GET BIT
The first and only reliable fact of the zombie genre is DON'T GET BIT.
As we look at this through the Eyes of Truth, God's Word, we find a startling revelation. The first mention of armour in the scriptures is found in 1 Samuel 14:1...

Now it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines' garrison, that is on the other side. But he told not his father.

 We need to be armour barers for one another. This not only speaks to tending to each others Armour of God, as spoken of in Ephesians 6:10-18

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

In baring one another's armour, these are the things that we should be checking. Are we speaking truth? How's your Faith? Have you shared your walking experience of Faith with anyone? When people see you and your life, do they see the Righteousness of God? When sin appeared, did you speak the Sword of the Spirit? If this armour is in place, we know that we are protected. If we see someone who has a chink in their armor, they are in danger of being infected.

GETTING BIT
As the bite of a zombie will breakdown your body's defenses and set the infection, so too will a bite of any person not walking in the Spirit of God. A bite can be anything from temptation, doubt, pride or even coveting...anything contrary to the Holy Spirit of God. Once that bite takes place, the infection spreads rapidly to separate you from your life...GOD. It can manifest as anything it wants, anything it needs to be to keep you out of the Will of God and to sever your connection to Him. This bite usually elicits the emotions to facilitate it's parasitic usurp of God. If that bite can make you feel like you are praying to the ceiling rather than the Holy Throne of Lord God Almighty, it has succeeded in setting the infection. If that bite can make you feel as though you can't trust God Almighty, through doubt, or set your anger against someone. As I said, this bite will begin where it can do the most damage and quickly end your Spiritual Life. Satan is the Destroyer of Life. As the infection begins killing you it spreads to any area that it can control you. Lies beget lies, debauchery begets debauchery, drunkenness begets drunkenness. Doubt begets doubt until pride stands up in the face of God Almighty and declares He is no longer in charge. At that point, spiritually, we die. The only thing we have at that point is an appointment with physical death that inevitably places us before God Almighty. Until that time, we wander this wasteland seeking whom we can infect with a single bite.

Listen closely for God to speak to you from His Word. Get in His Word and dig for the Truth. Speak to God about your concerns and look for Him to lead you. Watch carefully for His Coming.

REVELATIONS OF A LIFE WELL LIVED

I am continually refreshed by the goodness and the faithfulness of God Almighty. For the first time in this crazy life that I have lived, I am beginning to see things in a perspective I never thought possible. I have in my unregenerate past been an abomination to God, and even though I found Jesus Christ and began my adventure with Him, I still didn't understand how being reborn would change the aspect of my life that God had called me out of. Today God revealed to me that though we are not the center of the physical universe, EACH PERSON ON THIS PLANET IS THE CENTER OF GOD'S UNIVERSE. Everything that He has done in the past, is doing today, and will do in the future, is all for you. If you were the only person on the earth, God still would have sacrificed His Son to give you the choice to come home to Him at the end of your time here on earth. Every person (friend or foe) in your life, every event (both good and bad) that you have been a part of, every thing that has come into your life or left you... it is all for the express purpose of the plan that He has for your life... A LIFE FILLED WITH HIM. Jesus Christ is the door into a life that we cannot even begin to fathom, possibilities that we cannot even imagine, and a fullness of existence that we cannot even contain. God's heart beats with a love for you that will overwhelm and fulfill you. He declares in His Word that He is a Jealous God. God doesn't want to lose you to the enemy of your soul, He wants nothing but the absolute best for your life, which He preordained from before you were even formed in your mothers womb. Until this day, I did not understand any of this, could not even comprehend it let alone accept it and walk in it. But God... (I am so thankful for the 'But God...' verses in the Bible.) But God had mercy on me in my ignorance and saw fit this day to draw the scales from my eyes. And oh, the wonderment I beheld in my understanding of His Absolute Love for even me. And I glimpsed a life that He wants to bless and walk with me through. I am a different man for it.
